Our Mission
As a youths representing our Chinese school, we want to spread our love of Chinese culture and enticing others to join the school and its activities. We hope to accomplish this by hosting and organizing events, such as the annual Halloween Party, the Second Harvest Food Drive, and the Chinese New Year entertainment. In addition, we've raised money for the Japan Tsunami Relief, Sichuan Earthquake Relief, and other charities. Through our efforts, we hope to bring together the Chinese community and increase student involvement in leading and promoting our mother tongue, Cantonese. We aim to create a well-rounded environment for this school.
History
West Valley Chinese Language School is the first Chinese school in the county to have established an active student council, and is currently still the only one in the area. Starting in the sixth grade students can join student council and engage themselves in the various activities as well as gain leadership experience. Over the years there are not only many experienced members, but also young students who join every year. In 2009, West Valley Chinese Language School's student council celebrated its tenth anniversary.
